You'll feel the rhythm of this music in the small of your back and out to the tips of your toes and fingers until you're tapping and popping with a joy that is the essence of why these three talented men get together to make this music. It all started with just clapping hands, creating spontaneous syncopated rhythms until they quickly discovered they could bring the instruments on which they were trained to this rhythmic stew.
Washboard Bill's early influences were of the music of the '30s and '40s where he often played the drums and washboard along with his musically gifted and creative father, Drue Allman. Dennis and Dale grew up with the music of the '50s and '60s both playing piano and guitar inspired by Mom's easy strides on the piano and Dad's smooth dancing feet. This difference in musical influences has been a rich source for the trio's creativity and versatility. They can easily shift between swing, blues, jazz, early rock, Reggie and gospel and often combine many of these various musical forms into a unique form of their own. Their playing of the "unexpected" in style, rhythm and harmony along with a driving, rhythmic energy never fails to get your senses going. Enjoy.
